So How Can a Rain Session Get Rained Out?

Well, that’s the short easy answer. There are other things to consider too. The lighting I use to illuminate the manufactured rain uses electric lights all around my rain machine. I could probably cover them, and they would probably be OK but then there’s extension cords laying around in the rain…

The important answer is it takes away from the experience. When it’s raining its cooler which makes everything feel cooler. Friends and family that are watching wouldn’t get to enjoy it as much if it wasn’t raining. Plus, I can’t put out all the other nice amenities like my patio heater, dry towels, posing charts, chairs to sit in, etc.

So, let’s reschedule the rain machine experience to a nicer summer evening and pray that we get more of them soon!

Dance Portraits for Sophia

Dance portraits for Sophia in Austin, TX

Here are some tips for creating breathtaking dance portrait photography:

  1. Plan ahead. Before the shoot, discuss with the dancer what kind of poses they want to do and what kind of mood they want to convey.
  2. Use a fast shutter speed. Dance moves are fast and fluid, so you’ll need a fast shutter speed to capture them in motion.
  3. Use a wide aperture. A wide aperture will help you blur the background and keep the focus on the dancer.
  4. Use a telephoto lens. A telephoto lens will help you get close-up shots of the dancer without getting in their way.
  5. Use natural light. Natural light is best for capturing the beauty of dance.
  6. Capture emotion. Dance is all about emotion, so make sure you capture that in your photos.
  7. Edit your photos. Editing can help bring out the best in your photos and make them truly breathtaking.

I hope these tips help you create some amazing dance portraits! If you have any other questions or need more information, feel free to ask.
