Nasty Thunderstorm

We had a nasty thunderstorm roll through here recently. This one had strong winds that actually blew down my metal/cloth gazebo in my backyard and ripped my US flag and bracket out of the wall!

If I didn’t know better I would think this photo was a tornado. But it wasn’t and had no rotation.

While taking some photos at Merrill Creek the other evening came across this beautiful reflecting shot.

Late Afternoon Swing

SundayPMHDR-033_HDR

I was planning on going to a photography expo this afternoon but my plans changed due to other priorities. But I still had the urge to create some photographs with an emphasis on HDR. So off I went. First stop was the playground in town. This HDR photo was taken down low.

Spooky Morning

Spiders are busy this time of year. Combined with all the rain and drizzle of late makes their usually invisible abode visible.

Stink bugs that is. With the cool weather last week we thought perhaps this fall wouldn’t be that bad. But the weather warmed back up again and they stink bugs are on the move looking for warmer places to over-winter!

Fall Is In the Trees

WP_000773

With the warmer and wetter weather of late it hasn’t been feeling as “fally” as it was before the hurricane hit. But that doesn’t mean that the trees haven’t notice the change in the calendar. Some maple trees are starting to put on their end of season colors.

Two Bucks

Wed245

First bucks of the season on my property. What amazed me the most was not only were there two of them (one had 6 points already!) but there were two younger deer traveling with them. I know this is the modern age but I didn’t think I’d see this translate to animals as well!!

Warm Winter Ahead?

Sat241

I noticed the season’s first wooly caterpillar at my house. It didn’t look as big and woolly as past years. Sign of a warmer winter ahead? Or perhaps he was just reacting to the insecticide that was put on the lawn a few days earlier? Time will tell…
