Well it’s that time of year where area high schools are starting to get ready and deliver their spring musicals.

I’ll continue my 2024 retrospect by looking at those area high schools that performed at the 2024 Freddy Awards.

Second Freddy Awards Rehearsal for 2024

First Freddy Award rehearsal of 2024

The first rehearsal for the 2024 Freddy Awards took place this past Thursday evening. The first rehearsal is all about seeing old friends and learning new music and choreography.

Freddy Awards 2023 Retrospective Gallery

For the past 12 years, I’ve been photographing the Freddy Awards. What are the Freddy Awards? The short answer is they are the Tony Awards equivalent for High School theater in eastern PA and western NJ.

Above is a link to a video showing some of my images that are on display at the State Theater. The gallery is open on show nights for patrons that have tickets. See the State Theater’s show show calendar to find days.

In addition to what on display in the gallery, I have HUNDREDS if not thousands of additional images available for viewing and purchase on my Freddy Awards website. A portion of any images sold goes back to the Freddy Awards program.

Matilda played by Alayna Lino rehearses for their production of ‘Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical’ on March 19, 2024, at the high school.

As the curtains rose and the spotlight painted the stage, I found myself immersed in a world where imagination danced with reality. Warren Hills Regional High School’s production of Roald Dahl’s “Matilda the Musical” was a tapestry of wonder, mischief, and heartwarming moments. As a professional photographer, I had the privilege of capturing this enchanting journey—one that unfolded through the lens of young performers, dedicated teachers, and the magic of live theater.

In Retrospect

“Matilda The Musical” wasn’t just a performance; it was a testament to the power of storytelling. Through my lens, I witnessed courage, friendship, and the indomitable spirit of youth. These photographs will forever hold the magic—the laughter, the tears, and the standing ovations.
