Having A Bad?

POTD44-1

Well for some folks it might be worse than yours!

I’ll be visiting the wizard one more time over the next few days then he’ll go behind the green curtain.

Baseball Fever

43

It’s been such a cold/snowy winter. Now that football season is over, people are looking for a symbol of relief. I spotted this baseball on my desk and found it! Pitchers and catchers report to spring training next week! Woot!

Snow Cracks

42

The other day I noticed something that looked like a crack in the snow in my front yard. I didn’t think too much of it. I thought it was related to a mouse or other animal.

Then today while walking to the curb to pickup the newspaper, I noticed another one. This was a clear crack in the snow. In looking around I could see there were others. Some were attached – others not. It almost looks like a small scale snow plate tectonics – similar to what the earth’s crust does. It makes me wonder if it’s a coincidence or at these giant patches of snow that are very heavy and encased in a glaze from the recent ice storms really moving? I’ll have to keep my eye on these – unless the warmer temperatures of the weekend have other plans.

Under The Weather

41

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather in the past 24-48 hours. I had to enlist my good friend Claritin-D12 for some assistance. It must be related to the fact that my wife had something a week or two ago and I was pushing myself with a great deal of photos and processing over the weekend.

Dorothy & Auntie Em

WizardTechWed-557

I took several hundred photos last night (which still need to be processed) of a tech rehearsal for PreSKIT’s upcoming performance of “Wizard of Oz.” I picked this one as it will be used as a prop in the show.

Applied sepia and edge darkening along with some additional grain to make it look older.

Warning: You’ll probably being seeing lots of “Oz” photos in the coming days!! Smile

If you’re in the area I highly recommend the show! Tickets at www.showkdis.org.

Reflecting Winter Sunset

WinterSunset-003

We had a great deal of freezing rain and sleet that fell on top of the 15” of snow from other storms. This resulted in a shiny crust on the top of the snow that you can almost walk on. It also makes for a nice reflecting sunset photo.

I’m off to photograph the first “Wizard of Oz” tech rehearsal. This should have occurred on Tuesday but due to the snow, tonight will be their first one!

Ground Hog Day Ice Storm

Well this is what happens when they issue an ice storm warning! Luckily so far so good. I worry most about loosing electricity when these things happen. I have some trees and bushes that are having a hard time this winter but hopefully they will pull through.
