Sunrise

WP_000996

Frequent blog readers know that I take a lot of sunset photos but not many sunrise. Why? I’m usually sleeping!

But thanks to a recent trip I was up early and my hotel room on the 5th floor had a nice view to the east.

What’s also special about this photo is my oldest daughter, who’s an RN now working the night shift, took a picture of the same sunrise some 700 miles away!

On a recent trip to an out of town photo conference, I was amazed at the size of this cross near the edge of the road.

It took a little longer than anticipated to finish processing the photos from Amanda & John’s wedding but they are done! I’m happy with the way they turned out. Amanda & John are a wonderful couple and easy to photograph.

Snow Pile Update

WP_000987

Frequent blog readers will recognize I posted a large pile of early season snow at our local mall back on November 7th. That was 9 days after the freak October snowstorm which dumped 8” of snow to the area.

This picture to the left is what’s left of the same pile. This is over 2 weeks ago! I think the snow being so wet had a lot to do with how long it lasted.

Poker Night

WP_000966

This photo probably would have been nicer with a stack or two of poker chips in the foreground but my buddy brings those and wasn’t there yet. So its just a clean wide open poker table before all the chips, dips and cards.

Cool Groom Shot

Russell-Butterfield20111105-485We’re still processing the photos from Amanda & John’s wedding.

I like to try and get a few “cool groom” shots at weddings. After all there are a ton of shot featuring brides (as they should be).

Gas Leak in Lopatcong

98 Fire provided mutual aide the other day into Lopatcong township for a report of a gas leak and smoke in a multi tenant residence. Upon arriving they found the unit filled with the smell of natural gas coming from the stove. Luckily no one was hurt and the unit aired out.

Flying South

WP_000957

While out and about the other evening I heard a large flock of birds (geese) flying in very dark twilight after sunset. It took me a while to spot them because it was so dark but there they were. I had to use my Samsung Focus phone camera to get the shot – by the time I found and setup my better camera, they would have been out of range!
