January 12 Snowtography

04

We received 6.9” of new snow from the most recent storm. We now have 9” of snow on the ground. It doesn’t look like its going anywhere fast. It looks to be cold this week with possibly a little bit more over the weekend and perhaps another storm chance early next week followed by a very cold snap. Whatever happened to the January thaw?

Sun-Snow Shower

WP_000184

Clouds have been increasing all day today. there was a nice sunrise picture I took but it was through the bathroom window screen and didn’t turn out so great. By the time I would have got dressed and went outside, the beauty would have been long gone.

During the early afternoon we actually received a sun-snow shower! Granted its kind of hard to really see the falling snow especially since it was light. Furthermore I snapped this with my camera phone (5 mp Samsung Focus).

Let’s see if the forecast for tonight and tomorrow Am is correct. I have a bad feeling the heavier snow will stay to our east…

Snowtography

Today is a nice winter day. It’s also the calm before the proverbial storm. There is a potent snowstorm forecast to start later on Tuesday. It could hold off until tomorrow night.

Today’s adventure was with a telephoto lens.

Snowy Friday

ccWe picked up 2.1” of new snow today. Schools only had a delay. Thankfully all afterschool activities took place (long story).

This photo was taken while it was still snowing out a little.

More snow is expected on Saturday. Up here it should only be a dusting to 1”. You have to keep an eye on those because sometimes I’ve seen dustings being cleaned up with a snow blower Smile
