Welcoming a new dance ambassador is always exciting, but it is doubly sweet when it is someone you have watched grow up through your lens. Addy (@addysonhubert) officially kicked off her ambassador season with our annual “Spooky Dance Portraits,” and while this is her first year on the ambassador team, she is certainly no stranger to the camera.
Having had the pleasure of photographing Addy for years through Showbiz Kidz Dance Studio (@sbkdance), our rapport was instantaneous. That long-standing familiarity gave her the freedom to bypass the warm-up jitters and jump headfirst into full-throttle theatrical character work.
Long-Time Chemistry, Fresh Seasonal Mystery
Our spooky portrait sessions thrive on character commitment. Dancers do not just hold a clean shape; they embody a narrative. With years of studio work under her belt, Addy brought effortless poise, dramatic intuition, and absolute control to the set.
Whether channelling gothic intrigue through intricate props or striking bold shapes on the floor, Addy showed exactly why she is such a dynamic addition to this year’s ambassador lineup.
Session Highlights
- Haunted Mirror Illusion: Holding an ornate hand mirror revealing a second face, Addy stood serenely beside the “Dear Sweet Leota” Haunted Mansion tombstone in a flowing, layered vintage gown.
- Sorceress Silhouette: Channeling pure witchy drama, Addy posed behind the tombstone in a billowed black cape, fishnets, and jazz shoes with her hands poised in an ominous spell-casting stance.
- Living Portrait: Peering through a vintage gilded picture frame, Addy delivered an intense, piercing close-up that leaned into fine art gothic storytelling.
- Floor Inversion Drama: Lying flat on the studio floor in black lace and fishnets with her legs extended straight up to the ceiling, Addy nailed a modern, moody perspective.
